  • Egyptian pyramids to find the missing photos via satellite

Survey revealed a new satellite for several buildings in the ancient Egypt of which 17 pyramid.
It was detected about 1000 and 3000 cemetery old colony by infrared images show the buildings buried under the ground.

Confirmed the initial exploration of some discoveries, including two of the pyramids is not known in advance.
D say. Sarah Barcak: "The disclosure of the pyramid is the dream of everyone working in the field of archeology."

And led the team Barcak archaeological research in space technology in the laboratory of research sponsored by the U.S. space agency (NASA) in Birmingham, Alabama, and says it is amazed that she and her team discovered.

She adds: "We did this extensively for over a year and you see information that they collect, but we have a moment of surprise was when I looked at what we found could not believe that we can determine such a number of sites in Egypt."
The team analyzed the images satellites flying at an altitude of 700 km above the ground and equipped with cameras so powerful that they can identify anything on the surface of the ground at least a meter radius.
And use infrared imaging to determine the different materials under the surface of the earth.
The ancient Egyptians built their homes and other buildings is Mufkhor brick made from clay which is more dense than the surrounding soil, and so you can see the forms of houses, temples and cemeteries.

D say. Barcak: "This shows us how easy it is to underestimate the value of the size and extent of human settlements in the past."
U.S. researcher believes that there are more effects that can be detected.
She adds: "This is just the sites near the surface. There are many thousands of sites that bury the Nile silt. This is just the beginning for this kind of effort."
The camera tracked the BBC d. Barcak in her "exciting" when I traveled to Egypt to see whether it would support the excavation reveals a technology that you use.
In the documentary, told the BBC the title (the lost cities of Egypt) team to visit Saqqara, where the authorities were not interested at first discoveries of the researcher.
But after he told them d. Barcak she saw pyramids have engaged in exploratory drilling, and now believe he is one of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt.
However, the d. Barcak says that "the most exciting moments was to visit the excavation sites of Tanis."

She adds: "We have found the old house dates back to 3000 years was revealed by satellite images and match the form of a true home with the images in full. This was to test the efficacy of the technology."
Among other things, the Egyptian authorities are planning to use the technology to protect the effects of the country in the future.
During the recent revolution enables terrorists from entering some of the known archaeological sites.
The researcher says: "We know that the images using the looting of graves in a specific time period and we can inform the Interpol to monitor the effects of stolen since that time, which may be offered for sale."
And hopes that the new technology to be a way to help youth interest in science and a great help to archaeologists around the world...
